The 1927 New York Yankees at Dunn Field

The Yankees were 5-6 at Dunn Field, their only losing record on the road. Capacity was 21,414. The distance down the left field was 374, while the left center distance was 415, center field was 430, deepest center was 467, right center was 400, and down the right field line was 290. As a team, they batted .292 with 5 HR, 55 RBI, and 55 RS. Meusel led the team with a .522 AVG, while Combs led with 16 hits. Ruth led the team with four HR, 11 RBI and 10 RS.

Yankees pitchers had a 4.56 ERA. Moore led the staff with a 2.25 ERA in 24 IP, despite his 1-3 record. Shocker was 2-0, Ruether and Thomas each won their only decision, and Hoyt, Pipgras and Shawkey each lost their only decision.

Cleveland pitchers held the Yankees scoreless in 75 of the 102 innings they batted (74%), best home mark against the them in 1927. The Yankees were 2-2 in one run games at Dunn Field.
